CA Stete Senator Becker - Town Hall April 4 2025
Article Source: CA State Senator Josh Becker
Dear Friends,
Over
the past three years, residents of Senate District 13 have stepped up
in powerful ways to support the people of Ukraine—organizing local aid
drives, raising funds, and even delivering humanitarian assistance
directly to those impacted by Russia’s ongoing war. This community
effort reflects a deep understanding that the fight for democracy
abroad is directly connected to the values we defend here at home.
Please join me on Friday, April 4 at 10:30 AM for a virtual town hall that brings this global issue into local focus.
We’ll be joined by:
- Michael McFaul, former U.S. Ambassador to Russia and
Professor of Political Science at Stanford University, where he directs
the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Professor
McFaul has been one of the nation’s leading voices on the importance of
U.S. support for Ukraine and the global implications of Putin’s war.
- Nadine
North, board member of Nova Ukraine, one of the largest humanitarian
organizations supporting Ukrainian civilians with essential aid and
services.
- Bill Cole, an
executive and humanitarian who has worked on the ground in Ukraine,
delivering aid and bearing witness to the toll of war—and the
resilience of the Ukrainian people.
This
conversation comes at a critical time. Many of us watched with concern
the recent Oval Office meeting between President Trump, Vice
President Vance, and President Zelensky—a moment that underscores
what’s at stake for our community as both foreign and domestic policy
decisions are made.
As
part of our ongoing series on democracy and civic engagement, this town
hall will explore how Ukraine’s fight for freedom affects us in Senate
District 13 and the future of democracy in America itself.

I hope you can join us for this important and timely discussion.
Sincerely,
Senator Josh Becker
